  • Boiler fault enquiry checklist

    Record the boiler details

Send the make, model and any error code shown on the display. Explain what happens when heating or hot water is requested, when the problem began and whether pressure has changed.

    Do not dismantle the appliance

Photographs of the front display and surrounding installation can be useful, but gas appliances should not be opened or repaired by an unqualified person. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the area and follow official emergency guidance immediately rather than waiting for an online quote.

    Add the property postcode

Include the postcode, best phone number, access times and whether the property is occupied by a tenant.

    See LP10 boiler services.

  • What changes a man-and-van quote?

    List the load accurately

Give an item list and photographs of bulky or fragile pieces. Include approximate dimensions for unusually large items and state whether anything needs dismantling.

    Describe both addresses

Send collection and delivery postcodes, floor levels, lift availability, walking distance, parking restrictions and narrow access. These details can affect the time and people required.

Be clear about help and timing

State whether loading and unloading help is needed, the preferred date and any fixed collection slot. Mention disposal or clearance separately because it may need different arrangements.

See LP10 transport and removal services.

  • Photographs to include with a scaffolding enquiry

    Photograph every elevation involved

Take wide pictures from ground level showing the full building face, roofline and nearby boundaries. Include side passages, extensions, conservatories and overhead obstructions.

    Explain the intended work

Scaffolding for painting, roofing, repairs or another task may need different working levels and access. Give the expected dates, building height and full site address.

    Show the approach and ground

Photograph gates, narrow routes, neighbouring land and the surfaces where the structure may stand. The provider will confirm what further survey or permissions are needed.

    See LP10 scaffolding services.

  • What to include in an HGV traction or haulage enquiry

    Define the movement

State whether the enquiry is for traction only, a trailer pull, scheduled commercial haulage or airport-related logistics. Give collection and delivery points, dates, times and expected frequency.

    Describe the trailer and load

Include trailer type, gross and load details supplied by the contracting party, coupling or equipment requirements and any time-critical booking information. Do not send sensitive airside or security credentials through a public form.

    Confirm compliance directly

Operator arrangements, insurance, driver requirements, site induction, permits and contract terms must be checked for the particular job before work is accepted.

See LP10 HGV traction and haulage services.

  • What to send for a useful tiling quote

Start with the room and the existing surface

Take wide photographs showing the whole floor or wall, then close-ups of cracks, loose tiles, damp marks or uneven areas. State whether old tiles need removing and whether the room is currently in use.

    Add measurements and tile information

Approximate length and width are useful even when final measurements will be checked later. Include the tile size, material and product link if already chosen. Large-format, natural-stone and outdoor tiles can need different preparation.

    Explain access and timing

Mention parking, stairs, occupied rooms and any fixed deadline. A useful first enquiry includes the full postcode, contact number and several clear photographs.

See LP10 tiling services or ask LP10 to match the job and area.

  • Regrout, repair or retile: what should you ask?

    Identify what has failed

Discoloured grout, missing grout, loose tiles and failed silicone are different problems. Photograph the full area and the affected joints. If tiles move, sound hollow or the wall feels damp, say so clearly.

A cosmetic refresh may not solve movement

New grout cannot permanently correct a moving or unsuitable background. The underlying surface, water exposure and extent of any damage need checking before the right repair is agreed.

    Keep spare-tile details

If you have matching spare tiles, photograph the box label. If not, include the approximate tile size and a close-up of the colour and finish.

  • Planning an outdoor porcelain patio

The finished tiles are only one part of the job

Outdoor porcelain needs an appropriate base, falls for water movement and a layout that works with doors, steps, drains and boundaries. Photograph the entire garden and the access route from the road.

    Show levels and drainage

Include doors, air bricks, gullies and changes in height. Explain whether an old patio, soil or another surface is currently present and whether waste must be removed through the property.

    Share the product before ordering

Send the tile dimensions and supplier link. The installer can then discuss layout, cuts, edges, preparation and suitable installation materials.

  • What to ask about after block-paving pressure washing

    Confirm the surface first

Block paving, concrete, natural stone, decking and rendered walls do not all require the same approach. Send wide and close photographs so the material and condition can be reviewed.

Ask about joints and drying time

Pressure washing can disturb sand between blocks. Ask whether re-sanding is part of the proposed work and when it can be completed after the surface dries. Stains, drainage and nearby doors or vehicles should also be discussed.

    Provide access details

State the approximate area, outside water availability, drainage route, parking and anything that must be protected or moved.

    See LP10 pressure-washing services.
