Start with the room and the existing surface
Take wide photographs showing the whole floor or wall, then close-ups of cracks, loose tiles, damp marks or uneven areas. State whether old tiles need removing and whether the room is currently in use.
Add measurements and tile information
Approximate length and width are useful even when final measurements will be checked later. Include the tile size, material and product link if already chosen. Large-format, natural-stone and outdoor tiles can need different preparation.
Explain access and timing
Mention parking, stairs, occupied rooms and any fixed deadline. A useful first enquiry includes the full postcode, contact number and several clear photographs.
