A cold or noisy radiator does not automatically mean the entire system needs power flushing. Air, valve faults, balancing, circulation, controls, contamination and boiler issues can produce overlapping symptoms. A useful enquiry describes the pattern across the whole property.
Map every radiator
List each room and whether the radiator is hot, partly warm, cold, noisy, leaking or slow. Note whether problems happen upstairs, downstairs or after other work. Photographs of the radiator and visible valves help, but do not loosen fittings.
Describe planned replacements
For new radiators or towel rails, send wall dimensions, the existing pipe positions and the proposed product. Different size, output or connection positions can affect pipework, wall fixing, balancing and decoration.
Ask for diagnosis before a cleaning method
Power flushing, chemical cleaning, filters, valve work or balancing may be considered after the engineer assesses the system. The quotation should state the proposed process, limitations, chemicals, protection and what happens if weak components or existing leaks are found.
