Wallpaper work is affected by what is already on the wall and what should be visible when the room is finished. Removing one easy layer is different from dealing with several layers, loose plaster or a patterned paper that needs careful matching.
Send the exact wallpaper
Provide the product link, roll width, roll length, batch information and pattern repeat. Photograph the complete room and measure each wall, including doors, windows and fitted units. The decorator can then discuss likely roll quantities and a sensible allowance.
Describe the existing wall
Say whether the wall is painted, newly plastered, lined or already papered. Show seams, bubbles, tears, stains and visible cracks. The wall may need stripping, washing, filling, sanding, sizing or lining before the final paper is suitable.
Agree the finished edges
Identify feature walls, corners, chimney breasts, alcoves, radiators, sockets and switches. Electrical accessories should be handled safely; do not remove covers or expose wiring just to take a photograph.
